Essential Functions: The ideal candidate must have the ability to: (a) teach courses in counseling psychology and other Educational Psychology areas, (b) run pre-practicum, practicum, and internship training for master's and doctoral level trainees in Counseling Psychology,(c) function as the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) in a new (starting Fall 2018) Ph.D. program in Counseling Psychology,(d) help manage daily program operations for counseling psychology training programs (marketing, recruitment, admissions, progress monitoring/university compliance, APA accreditation management, and related activities),(e) contribute to college and university service activities, (f) engage in scholarly/research work, and (f) serve on master's student thesis and dissertation research committees.
Qualifications: We seek to hire an exceptional trainer of counseling psychology practitioners who also has potential for quality service and scholarship contributions to WSU. Applicants must have earned a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program, show evidence of field experience necessary to be a trainer of counseling psychology practitioners, experience in, strong record of, and strong interest in teaching and mentoring students, a record of service contributions to one's workplace and professional community, and potential for scholarly/research engagement.
