This individual will collaborate closely with psychiatrists in the Department’s Mood Disorders program and affiliated Neuromodulation program. These are new efforts focusing on Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and novel interventions including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Part of the psychologist’s role will involve tailoring the assessments and specific therapeutic techniques to the team’s multidisciplinary approach to treating mood disorders including treatment-resistant depression. The new psychologist will join an active faculty of 55 members, 25 of which are psychologists. The University of Minnesota is an active research institution and the Department of Psychiatry has many ongoing studies with potential opportunities for collaboration, including TMS studies.
