The Student Health and Counseling Center at Hofstra University is accepting applications for a full-time position as Staff Psychologist. The Staff Psychologist will perform a range of activities servicing a diverse student community, including individual and group counseling, psychological assessment and crisis consultation. Outreach programming and networking as well as providing clinical supervision and training to doctoral level trainees are also essential requirements of the position. The ability to conceptualize and deliver services within a short-term cognitive-behavioral model is required.
The Student Health and Counseling Center is organized within the Division of Student Affairs and combines the resources of medical and mental health services in support of student health. Accessible short-term health care, health education and psychological services assist in facilitating the mission of education through proactive efforts that help students realize their full potential.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Intake assessments - Individual and group counseling, triage intervention - Outreach programming - Clinical supervision - Didactic training seminars for psychology interns - Consultation with faculty, staff, students and families - Collaboration and consultation with Division of Student Affairs partners, medical staff and other mental health providers - Service on some evenings and weekends to manage student emergencies and support university community events and programming - Maintain patient electronic health records in accordance with regulations and policies - Student utilization data collection and management; contribute to the development of goal driven projects and departmental reports - Serve on University committees
