Department of Psychology, Assistant Professor (Clinical/Counseling Psychology with Child/Adolescent Focus). Elon University invites applicants for a continuing track position in Clinical or Counseling Psychology at the assistant professor level beginning mid-August 2019. Applicants should have completed or expect to complete a PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology by August 2019. Individuals with a PhD or PsyD in School Psychology who have teaching and research experience in clinical/counseling areas are also encouraged to apply. Candidates must show evidence of high-quality teaching and the ability to mentor undergraduates in a sustained research agenda related to child or adolescent issues in psychology. Candidates must also be capable of supervising internships. Elon employs a Teacher-Scholar model of faculty engagement. Faculty typically teach six courses per year and teaching is a priority. In support of faculty scholarship, service, mentoring, and professional development, some course reassignments opportunities are available. Teaching will include core clinical courses (abnormal and child psychopathology), as well as courses in candidates’ area of expertise relevant to clinical/counseling/school fields, and courses in Elon’s interdisciplinary core curriculum program. Teaching responsibilities may also include introduction to psychology and research methods.
