JOB DESCRIPTION: Attending on the OU Medical Center (OUMC) Admit Service; seeing outpatients with stroke-related conditions; teaching fellows, residents, and medical students; and participating in stroke-related research. Attending on the OUMC Admit Service includes managing patients in the Acute Stroke Unit and supervising stroke fellows, neurology and rotating residents, and medical students. Currently, three other stroke neurologists attend on the OUMC Admit Service. OUMC cares for over 500 stroke patients per year and is one of only three Comprehensive Stroke Centers certified by The Joint Commission in the state of Oklahoma; it has a 10-bed Acute Stroke Unit and an expandable 10-bed Neurosciences ICU. The Department of Neurology at the University of Oklahoma (OU) College of Medicine is seeking a neurologist for a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor with an interest in stroke / vascular neurology. The candidate must be eligible for an Oklahoma state medical license (MD or DO), have completed residency training in neurology at an ACGME-certified institution and fellowship training in vascular neurology at an ACGME-certified institution, be board certified in neurology, and be board certified or eligible in vascular neurology.
