The Department of Psychology at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) invites applications for two tenure-track positions:
A tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Psychology - Area of specialty is open, but the ideal candidate will be prepared to teach research methods and statistics in addition to courses within their area of psychology
A tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position the in area of Leadership Science – Candidate will teach a core-curriculum course in leadership science and other courses in psychology
Both appointments begin August 2018. Degree requirements for both positions include a Ph.D. (or ABD) in Psychology. Normal teaching load is 3:3.
VMI is an all undergraduate military college that is consistently ranked as a top public liberal arts college. All 1700 students live on campus and about 50% commission in the US Armed Forces. Faculty wear uniforms but no prior service is required. It is located in the southern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Lexington, population 7,000, is also home to Washington and Lee University and offers a stimulating cultural atmosphere in a pleasant, rural setting.
