Full Time; Partial Year Career* Starting Salary Range: $6,750/month to $9,166/month for 11 months.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Starting salary is based on fixed criteria including the number of years as a licensed psychologist and the type of experience (e.g. additional credit given for college counseling experience).

The Licensed Psychotherapist reports to the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and is assigned duties by the Director as specified herein. The Licensed Psychotherapist will provide high quality clinical services; community psychology/outreach and consultation services; and may provide supervision/training of doctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows.
In discharging these duties the Licensed Psychotherapist is expected to be keenly sensitive to issues of gender, culture, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disabilities, socio economic status etc. and to be skilled with techniques for counseling students with diverse backgrounds.
All the Licensed Psychotherapist's activities are performed within the limits of standards and ethical principles of their professional organization, as well as applicable legal mandates for mental health professionals in the State of California.
This position requires demonstrated expertise and understanding of Chicano/Latino students, specifically Chicanx/Latinx and first generation students from immigrant backgrounds.
*A 'Partial Year Career' appointment is established to accommodate foreseeable seasonal fluctuations in staffing, operational, or other needs and contains regularly scheduled furlough periods during which the incumbent remains an employee and retains health benefits, but is not at work. Please note that the Licensed Psychotherapist's furlough period is for one month in the summer (dates to be determined) and is unpaid time off.

Some special conditions include:
Valid California licensure, in good standing, in Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy OR Valid out of state licensure, in good standing, in Psychology*
*Out of state licensed psychologists or license eligible psychologists are required to acquire California licensure within 180 days from either submitting the application for licensure or beginning California residency, whichever occurs first.
Prior to formal offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal history background check and a pre-employment credentialing check.
Demonstrated clinical experience with individuals using a brief therapy model;
Experience facilitating psychotherapy and psychoeducational groups;
Demonstrated strong clinical and crisis management skills, including the ability to work with high acuity students with complex mental health needs;
Experience designing and implementing multi-culturally sensitive outreach programs and psychoeducational workshops
Demonstrated multicultural competence in mental health service provision; Knowledge of how race, ethnic identity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, privilege and multiculturalism relate to psychological service delivery in a university setting.
