Scope / Description of Position: part-time temporary Instructor position for fall semester 2018 and spring semester 2019.
Duties & Responsibilities: 1) Teaching undergraduate courses based on approved course curriculum in consultation with a faculty mentor and/or department head; 2) developing assessment measures (i.e., exams, quizzes, presentations, papers); 3) providing students with grade status throughout the term; 4) providing academic advising to undergraduate students; 5) attending bi-weekly faculty meetings; and 6) holding weekly office hours. Instructors will be evaluated by students and faculty.
Possible courses: Theories of Personality, Cognition, Psychology: Discipline and Profession.
Required: Minimum academic qualifications include a master’s degree in psychology or related field awarded by August 1, 2018 from a regionally accredited institution, and evidence of strong written communication skills.
Essential: Preferred qualifications include previous teaching experience at the collegiate level (such as Teaching Assistant experience) to a diverse group of students, evidence of effective teaching and academic rigor, evidence of strong oral communication skills, and demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse groups in educational settings.
