GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Kirkwood Community College Benton County Center seeks a skilled enthusiastic individual to join our faculty to teach concurrent credit classes in the College Credit Arts & Sciences Onsite program within a partner K12 High School in Van Horne, IA. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge base in their discipline and teaching experience at the college level is desirable. This is a non-tenure track adjunct faculty position beginning with Academic Year 2018-2019.
Responsible for the coordination, planning, preparing, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities.
Use subject matter expertise to lead discussions and help facilitate student learning during class.
Use subject matter expertise to provide accurate assessments of and rich feedback on student work.
Communicate with students, department staff, and faculty on a regular basis and within agreed upon response timeframe.
Be able and willing to represent the College in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers and the community we serve.
Possess the ability to organize and present various concepts to a wide range of students with varying backgrounds and abilities, and adjust teaching techniques accordingly.
Be able and willing to effectively deliver courses in alternative delivery methods.
Manage learning environments in a way or manner that is acceptable and consistent with department and College objectives, guidelines, policies and practices.
Assume responsibility; deal effectively with problems, and exercise independent judgment when ma king instructional decisions.

Master's Degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology.
Substitution of experience for education is not permitted.
Applicants with teaching experience at the post-secondary level, preferably at a community college preferred.
