Full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. The appointment will start August 19, 2019.
Duties & Responsibilities: 1) teach courses in the department's undergraduate and graduate programs; 2) actively engage in research with undergraduate and graduate students; 3) contribute to our Clinical Counseling track within our Master’s program, including supervision of graduate student research projects and practicum students; 4) advise undergraduate and graduate students; and 5) participate in departmental and university service.
Possible undergraduate courses include: Basic Helping Skills; Abnormal Psychology; Child and Adolescent Abnormal Psychology; Developmental Psychology; and Clinical Psychology. Possible graduate courses include: Assessment I (Foundations and Cognitive Assessment); Assessment II (Personality and Diagnostic Assessment); Child, Adolescent and Family Therapy; Ethics; Career and Lifestyle Development; Multicultural Foundations; and Clinical Supervision.
Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialty in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a highly related field completed by start date of appointment
Evidence of a strong research agenda
Experience conducting human participant research
Commitment to working with diverse populations and fostering diversity across campus
Strong written communication skills
Ph.D in Psychology with a specialty in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or highly related field from an APA/CPA-accredited program
Completion of an APA/CPA-accredited internship
Research experience in fields relevant to Clinical or Counseling Psychology, such as clinical assessment, intervention, or prevention with expertise in multicultural issues, child or adolescent mental health, or clinical cognitive neuropsychology.
Evidence of successful teaching in higher education
Experience working with diversity populations and fostering diversity across campus
