Reporting to the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and working within the Indiana University Health Center (IUHC), this Staff Psychologist’s primary role involves the delivery of clinical services including individual, couples, group and crisis counseling. The Staff Psychologist collaborates with members of CAPS’ multi-disciplinary staff, as well as the Health Center's medical clinic. We are especially interested in individuals who embrace group counseling as an empirically based and effective therapeutic modality. All Staff Psychologists have the opportunity to provide supervision and training in the CAPSAPA pre-doctoral intern training program.
Essential function of this position include evaluation of mental, emotional and behavioral health, adept at triage and management of mental health crises, ability to provide timely and thorough clinical records within an electronic medical record (EMR) platform.
Additional responsibilities involve outreach efforts that assist in reducing stigma and stereotypes that discourages students from seeking counseling. Individuals interested in this position should be enthusiastic about outreach and consultation services to the University community, particularly those programs and services directed toward underserved and underrepresented students. NOTE: This is a 10-month appointed position.
REQUIRED: Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an accredited psychology program.
Licensed Psychologist or Licensed eligible. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Strong organizational and multitasking skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities. Basic computer skills to navigate the electronic health record and electronic communication demanded by the job.
Two years post degree experience.
