Position Summary: The Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (C-CAPS) is seeking an experienced, clinically astute and skilled, culturally competent, energetic clinician. The clinician is expected to provide direct psychological/counseling services to students; develop community-level programming in order to foster University-wide mental wellness and education that supports the aims, objectives, and missions of C-CAPS and the University; and collaborate with the Director and other C-CAPS staff in the operation of the department. Responsibilities include: provision of clinical/mental health services with an emphasis on short-term individual counseling/psychotherapy; crisis intervention; group counseling; referral to off-campus resources; campus consultation; development and provision of outreach programming, training and/or psychological treatment services for students around one or more of the following areas: mental health issues, anxiety disorders/depression, sexual assault/relationship violence, men's issues, eating disorders, stress management, substance abuse, cultural diversity, sports psychology, wellness.
Prerequisite Qualifications: Doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology or terminal degree in clinical social work. NJ licensed as psychologist or licensed clinical social worker or NJ license-eligible in discipline and licensed within 1.5 years of employment. For doctoral level, minimum 2 years professional clinical experience including intake assessment, crisis intervention, psychotherapy, group counseling and human relations training. APA accredited pre-doctoral internship and one year experience. For masters-level clinical social worker, minimum 4 years post-masters clinical experience; professional experience as described above in lieu of doctorate. At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
