The Department of Psychology at Salve Regina University invites applications for tenure-track assistant professor and coordinator of our VCS in Applied Behavior Analysis to begin in Fall 2019. Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. in Behavior Analysis or Psychology and board certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA-D). The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in the ABA Master's program with secondary responsibilities for teaching undergraduate ABA courses as needed. Salve Regina University has a growing ABA program that includes the only 5th-year ABA program in the country. The ABA Program at Salve Regina is affiliated with two board-approved field placement sites. Candidates should be interested in engaging students in research.
Vision and Leadership
The Assistant Professor and VCS Coordinator in consultation with the ABA Program Director, will be the point of contact between the credentialing body and the University. The VCS Coordinator will ensure the program is compliant with board requirements.
Teaching and Research
The Assistant Professor and VCS Coordinator will maintain a teaching load commensurate with the other duties of the position, expected to be three courses per semester. Primary teaching responsibilities with be in the Graduate ABA Program with secondary teaching responsibilities in the Undergraduate ABA classes as needed. The University will encourage and support active research.
The Assistant Professor and VCS Coordinator will be responsible for communication with the credentialing body and ensuring compliance with requirements of Verified Course Sequences. The VCS Coordinator will participate in an on-going process of program development and review, including assessing student and institutional outcomes.
The Assistant Professor and VCS Coordinator will positively represent the Applied Behavior Analysis program within and outside of the University, including with the business community, University administration, alumni, and other constituencies and stakeholders.
Required qualifications - A doctoral degree in a psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis and board certification as a BCBA and/or BCBA-D., significant relevant professional experience, and experience in an academic environment.
The Assistant Professor and VCS Coordinator must be a highly effective communicator: able to inspire students, faculty, and community partners. We seek an individual who focuses on actions and outcomes, and will be an innovative and dynamic leader.
Highly preferred qualifications - Candidates with experience in curriculum review, curriculum development, and who are familiar with - or worked in programs with a Verified Course Sequence, at the Undergraduate and Graduate level.
The successful candidate will qualify for appointment to a tenure track position at the rank of Associate, Assistant or full Professor, depending on qualifications.
