The Campus Psychologist reports directly to the Assistant Vice Provost of Student Services and offers services to students in the areas of academic and emotional development to assist with meeting academic and professional goals. Key components of the position include identifying and addressing key challenges, providing counseling, and making referrals as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate and supportive mental health counselling for students and families, providing individual assessments, conducting individual and group counseling sessions, developing treatment plans, and maintaining necessary documentation
Consult with faculty and staff regarding students’ mental health needs
Provide crisis intervention during student mental health emergencies
Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to develop and deliver a network of outreach services
Work collaboratively with off-campus mental health resources to insure the student has a comprehensive treatment plan.
Represent department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations
Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in counseling services, cloud based system.
Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
Actively participate in University committees and meetings
PsyD or PhD in Psychology
Missouri License to provide counseling or clinical psychology
3 – 5 years experience counseling adults
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Must be self-motivated, self-disciplined, and able to function at an optimal level, while producing results and working independently
Must be detailed-oriented, very organized, and have excellent follow-through
Demonstrated technological ability, including proficiency in working with electronic medical records (?), databases, Word, Excel, and development of social media content
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines, while balancing multiple projects and performing assignments accurately
Flexibility in occasionally working extended hours, evenings, and/or weekends
Ability to serve the University and its students in a professional, caring, and effective manner
