Drive the future: We are seeking two Research Psychologists/Human Factors Specialists (one Intermediate and one Senior) to join a team in McLean, VA, just outside Washington, DC. Our team requires top-notch Human Factors R&D experts to take on hands-on lead roles and conduct:
behavioral research concerning highway safety, highway operations, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and intelligent vehicles,
traffic engineering activities,
driving simulator experimentation and analysis.
We are also required to provide program support including long-term research program visioning and planning for the future of vehicle, highway, and road research to ensure the safety and well-being of drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

Graduate degree in Experimental Psychology or Human Factors
Minimum of five (intermediate level) to ten (senior level) years’ demonstrated experience in research specific to the transportation field, which must include automotive/highway safety and operations. Specific experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems, Connected and Automated Vehicles research, Virtual Reality, and/or naturalistic data collection and analysis is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated skill and extensive experience in:
Serving as a principal investigator and leading research studies,
Managing subordinate technical personnel in a multi-disciplined environment,
Developing complex behavioral research efforts related to transportation safety and operations,
Designing and conducting applied behavioral research studies,
Designing data collection procedures and assuring quality control in data collection,
Performing statistical analyses and interpreting the results,
Preparing research reports and summaries of research activities,
Reviewing and evaluating complex research studies and programs,
Performing thorough literature reviews and summarizing technical information,
Interfacing with Government technical and business personnel,
Communicating technical information to diverse audiences,
Providing support in developing Government programs.
